  CLEPA Logo The Innovation Relay Centres are a network of the European Commission. Their mission is to support innovation and transnational technological co-operation in Europe with a range of specialised business support services. IRC services are primarily targeted at technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), but are also available to large companies, research institutes, universities, technology centres and innovation agencies. These centres have been created in order to facilitate the transfer of innovative technologies to and from European companies or research departments. The Innovation Relay Centre Northern Germany is co-ordinated by VDI/VDE-IT and covers Berlin, Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Hamburg and Bremen.   CLEPA Logo The VDI/VDE-Technologiezentrum Informationstechnik GmbH (VDI/VDE-IT) was created in 1978 as the first organisation of its kind in the Federal Republic of Germany. We are the management consulting subsidiary of both the VDI and the VDE, two of the largest engineering institutions in Europe. This guarantees our neutrality and independence. VDI/VDE-IT has gained wide know-how in technology, business, and economics. Our team consists of more than 100 employees with a broad spectrum of knowledge. Among them there are engineers, scientists, as well as experts in business, economics, political science, and other fields of the social sciences. Thus, for every question, a competent partner is available. Our experts are involved in multiple interdisciplinary innovation projects nationally as well as internationally, and hence remain in constant contact with the latest developments in high-tech fields. Information technology is our special area of expertise with a current emphasis on microsystems technology and multimedia. The VDI/VDE-IT provides consulting and support for technology-oriented companies, banks, and investors with interdisciplinary questions concerning technology, economics, and other social aspects. As a partner of federal and state governments, as well as the EU, VDI/VDE-IT develops and organises state support programs. Over the years, VDI/VDE-IT has coordinated more than 6,000 innovative projects and aided over 1000 start-up companies.
